Section Saf-C 3207.06 - Customer Relations(a) The inspection station shall provide the customer with an official vehicle inspection report (VIR) which contains the results of any safety inspection required by RSA 266 and these rules.(b) Permission shall be obtained from a vehicle owner before repairs are made which are necessary for a vehicle to pass inspection.(c) The vehicle owner shall be permitted to make his/her own repairs or to select any other inspection station for the necessary repairs.(d) All parts replaced as a result of an inspection shall be retained until the vehicle is returned to the owner. The vehicle owner may inspect and take ownership of all replaced parts.(e) The vehicle owner shall be informed, in writing, of any parts which, although in passing condition, the mechanic believes might become unsafe before the next inspection period.(f) Inspection stations making repairs to inspected vehicles shall, upon the owner's request, give a breakdown of the cost of any repairs required to pass the inspection prior to any work being performed, pursuant to RSA 358-D:2.N.H.
