Section Saf-C 1308.29 - Stirrup Steps(a) There shall be at least one folding stirrup step or recessed foothold along with suitably located handles on each side of the front of the body for easy accessibility for cleaning the windshield and lamps, except when the windshield and lamps are easily accessible for cleaning from the ground.(b) A folding stirrup step or recessed foot hold shall not be required on a type D school bus.(c) When not in use, a folding stirrup step shall be in the upright position.N.H.
