Section Saf-C 1308.06 - Defrosters(a) Defrosting and defogging equipment shall direct a sufficient flow of heated air onto the windshield, the window to the left of the driver and the glass in the viewing area directly to the right of the driver, in order to eliminate frost, fog and snow. The defroster unit shall have a separate blower motor in addition to the heater motors.(b) Defrosting and defogging equipment shall be capable of furnishing heated outside ambient air. That portion of the system which furnishes additional air to the windshield, entrance door and step-well may be of the recirculating air type.(c) Auxiliary fans may be used to supplement the defrosting and defogging equipment.(d) Portable heaters shall not be used as defrosting or defogging equipment.N.H.
