"Passive solar heating and ventilation systems" means the technologies that create heat or cooling without the use of active mechanical systems. Passive solar heating technologies convert sunlight into usable heat or store heat for future use, with little or no use of other energy sources. Passive ventilation systems use building design features that allow or promote air flows for natural ventilation and cooling with little or no use of other energy sources.
