Section Pos 1301.02 - Definitions

(a) "Commission" means the postsecondary education commission.

(b) "Development fees" means those fees charged to cover the cost of fund raising efforts.

(c) "Granite state scholars" means those students who have been determined to be eligible to be designated as such under rules established by the NH board of education.

(d) "Need-based" means an award given on the basis of financial need as defined by the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended.

(e) "Participating institution" means each 2-year or 4-year New Hampshire public institution that has been authorized by the postsecondary education commission to award either an associates degree, or a bachelor's degree or both.

(f) "Participating institution endowment fund" means the granite state scholars financial aid endowment fund, and its subentities, established at each participating institution.

(g) "Reporting period" means the period from April 1 through March 31 during which gifts and contributions are made to the endowment fund to match state funds.
