Section Plc 1507.16 - Publication of Writing Related to Respiratory Care(a) A licensee may claim credit towards the continuing competence requirement for publication of writing related to respiratory care, including books, peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed chapters of books, and peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles.(b) The licensee may claim no more than 12 contact hours per renewal cycle in accordance with the following:(1) For a book: a. If the licensee was the sole or primary author, 12 contact hours; andb. If the licensee was a co-author or secondary author, 6 contact hours;(2) For a peer-reviewed chapter of a book or a peer-reviewed article:a. If the licensee was the sole or primary author, 6 contact hours; andb. If the licensee was a co-author or secondary author, 3 contact hours; and(3) For a non-peer reviewed chapter or article:a. If the licensee was the sole or primary author, 4 contact hours; andb. If the licensee was a co-author or secondary author, 2 contact hours.(c) Documentation of the publication of a writing related to respiratory care shall be any item showing: (1) The title of the writing;(2) The date of publication;(3) A statement of whether the writing was peer-reviewed; and(4) Whether the licensee was a sole or primary author of the published writing.N.H.
