Section Mid 403.01 - DefinitionsIn Mid 403 the following terms have the following meanings:
(a) "Certified nurse-midwife (CNM)" means a registered nurse who has graduated from a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the ACNM Division of Accreditation and has passed a national examination to become professionally designated as a CNM by the ACNM Certification Council;(b) "Prenatal" means during the period of time between conception and the onset of labor;(c) "Postpartum" means occurring after childbirth;(d) "Primary midwife" means the midwife:(1) With whom the client contracts to provide care; and(2) Who assumes primary responsibility for the health of the mother, the fetus, and the newborn; and(e) "Regulating" means certifying or licensing by a state which oversees its midwives.N.H.
