Section He-P 812.23 - Pharmacy and Medications(a) Medications shall be administered only by a person licensed to do so by the state of NH.(b) An emergency drug cart shall be maintained, it shall be under the control of a licensed nurse or physician, and shall be inventoried, in accordance with the written policy of the ASC. (c) All medications shall be stored in a clean, well-organized cabinet or closet which shall be locked when not in use.(d) Appropriate security provisions shall be made for medications requiring refrigeration.(e) Security provisions such as locked drawers shall be made for individual physician samples if no central storage location is established.(f) Schedule I and II drugs scheduled in accordance with RSA 318-B:1-a shall be stored in a locked compartment within the locked medicine cabinet or closet.(g) Disposal of outdated medications and controlled drugs shall be in accordance with state and local ordinances and the provisions of RSA 318-B and Ph 707.N.H.
