Section He-C 6342.04 - Requirements for Child In Home Care Services
(a) Providers shall:
(1) Comply with the child abuse and neglect reporting requirements of RSA 169-C:29-30; and
(2) Not have a conflict of interest.
(b) Each provider for child in home care services shall:
(1) Be able to recognize and prevent hazards to the child's health and safety;
(2) Provide opportunities for the child to sleep or rest, toilet and have indoor and outdoor play activities appropriate to the age level of the child;
(3) Support the child's behavior with positive guidance and limits;
(4) At no time use corporal punishment; and
(5) Not associate punishment or discipline with food, rest or toilet training.
(c) Prior to the provision of child in home care services, the provider shall obtain from the parent, guardian or caregiver the following:
(1) Parent's, guardian's or caregiver's name, address, and telephone number;
(2) The child's name, age, atypical behaviors, routines, and special medical considerations, as applicable;
(3) Emergency procedures and contact information for reaching a parent, guardian or substitute caregiver; and
(4) Information about the behaviors or expressed needs of the child.
(d) A child in-home care provider shall:
(1) Be age 16 or older;
(2) Be able to communicate his or her needs and the needs of the child in an emergency;
(3) Be in good health as determined by a licensed physician or physician's assistant prior to applying for initial certification as a child in home care provider;
(4) Meet with the family who will receive services and the CPSW or JPPO; and
(5) Provide child in home care services only in the child's residence, which could be their own home, a foster home or a relative placement home.
