Section Fis 1503.08 - Government Vehicle Permanent Registration(a) Pursuant to RSA 215-A:25 and RSA 215-C:44, OHRV and snowmobile vehicles operated in this state by the federal government, the state of New Hampshire, or any political subdivision of the state of New Hampshire shall be registered to the governmental entity.(b) Governmental vehicle registration shall only be available at department headquarters in person, or by mail.(c) The governmental entity shall provide a letter on its organizational letterhead to the law enforcement division containing the following information: (1) Name and telephone number of a contact person;(2) Type of vehicle to be registered;(3) Year of vehicle manufacture;(4) Vehicle make and model;(5) Vehicle primary and secondary colors;(6) Vehicle identification number; and(d) No fee shall be collected for a government vehicle registration.(e) Upon meeting all of the above conditions, the department shall provide the applicant with a certificate of registration, together with the appropriate permanent registration plates.(f) Registration for governmental use does not constitute approval for operation upon a public way, or operation of the vehicle for a recreational use.(g) The governmental entity shall advise the department in writing when the vehicle has been removed from service, and: (1) Shall return the plate to the department if no replacement vehicle is placed in service; or(2) Shall provide the information required in (c) above to allow issuance of a new certificate of registration and transfer of the permanent plate to a replacement vehicle.N.H.
