Section Env-Wq 1102.25 - Escherichia coli (E. coli) "Escherichia coli (E. coli)" means a group of gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria that are a natural component of the intestines of warm-blooded animals and which are used in public health as indicators of fecal pollution.
