Section Env-A 1215.02 - VOC Content Standards for Rotogravure and Flexographic PrintingExcept as provided in Env-A 1215.03, those processes using packaging rotogravure, publication rotogravure, or flexographic printing shall be subject to one of the following:
(a) Each ink, as it is applied to the substrate, less water and non-volatile organic compounds, shall contain no more than 40% by volume of VOCs;(b) The volatile fraction of each ink, as it is applied to the substrate, shall contain no more than 25% by volume of VOCs and at least 75% by volume of water and non-volatile organic compounds; or(c) For packaging rotogravure and flexographic printing only, each ink, as it is applied to the substrate, shall have a VOC content that is less than or equal to 0.5 kg VOC/kg, equivalent to 0.5 lb VOC/lb, coating solids.N.H.
