Section Agr 1203.08 - Feeding Directions(a) Pet food, including snacks, or treats, labeled as complete and balanced for any or all life stages, as provided in Agr 1203.07(c)(1), shall list feeding directions as follows:(1) Consistent with the intended uses indicated in the nutritional adequacy statement, unless a limited use or more limited life stage designation is declared elsewhere such as, adult formula;(2) Expressed in common terms and shall appear prominently on the label;(3) At a minimum, state, the following: "Feed (weight/unit of product) per (weight only) of dog (or cat)"; and
(4) The frequency of feeding.(b) When pet food is intended for use by, or under the supervision, or direction of a veterinarian, the following statement shall be used in lieu of feeding directions: "Use only as directed by your veterinarian"
(c) Specialty pet food, including snacks or treats, labeled as complete and balanced for any or all life stages, as provided in Agr 1203.07(a), shall list feed directions as follows:(1) Adequate to meet the nutrient requirements of the intended species of specialty pet;(2) Expressed in common terms and shall appear prominently on the label; and(3) The frequency of feeding.N.H.
