Section 459.054 - "Occupational dose" defined

"Occupational dose" means the dose received by a natural person in the course of employment in which the natural person's duties involve exposure to radiation or radioactive material from licensed and unlicensed sources of radiation, whether in the possession of a licensee or registrant or any other person. The term does not include a dose received by a natural person:

1. From background radiation;
2. From any medical administration of radiation to the person;
3. From exposure to other natural persons who have been administered radioactive material and have been released pursuant to 10 C.F.R. § 35.75;
4. From voluntary participation in medical research; or
5. As a member of the public.
