Section 93-15-005 - Nepotism and Supervision of Family Members

Employees will not engage in nepotism. Nepotism means the act of hiring, promoting, or advancing a family member in state government or recommending the hiring, promotion, or advancement of a family member in state government. This includes within the Department and with other State Agencies. "Family Member" means an individual who is the spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, grandchild, or grandparent, by blood, marriage, or adoption, of an official or employee of the Department. Employees will not be assigned to positions in which they directly supervise, evaluate, or review the appraisal of a family member or to positions in which they are directly supervised, evaluated, or reviewed by a family member.
