Section 92-83-001 - General Information

001.01 Statutory Authority

This Rule is adopted pursuant to 79-435 R.R.S. which states, in part, that the State Board of Education shall adopt and promulgate rules and regulations for the State Committee for the Reorganization of School Districts to carry out its duties as provided in law.

001.02 Scope and Application of this Rule

This chapter provides the criteria and procedure to be used by the State Committee for the Reorganization of School Districts in the review and approval or disapproval of plans and petitions for changing school district boundaries, and for unifications as provided by law.

001.03 Related Regulations

In addition to the requirements of this Rule, the following regulations apply: Title 92 Nebraska Administrative Code (NAC), Chapter 8, dealing with school financing and budgeting; and Title 92 NAC Chapter 10, dealing with procedures for the accreditation of schools.

001.04 Filing of Petitions and Plans

All petitions and plans which must be filed with the State Committee for the Reorganization of School Districts shall be filed in care of the Commissioner of Education, Nebraska Department of Education, Nebraska State Office Building, 6^th Floor, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lincoln, NE 68509-4987.
