Shortage areas will be determined annually by the Department on the basis of an annual teacher supply survey of accredited and approved Nebraska school systems. Shortage areas as defined by the U.S. Department of Education under the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant will also be considered as qualifying shortage areas. Shortage areas for the current award period are available on the Department's web site (www.education.ne.gov [File Link Not Available]).
