Length of service for temporary assignments are monitored by DAS-State Personnel Division. When a temporary employee leaves a position in one agency and goes to a position in a different agency, a new period of temporary employment begins. A transfer to another division or department within the same agency does not constitute the beginning of a new period of temporary employment. Temporary employees who complete assignments may return to the same assignment after a 30-calendar-day break in service.
