Rule 38.3.2708 - COMMODITY RATE DISPLACES CLASS RATE(1) Where a commodity rate, either distance or mileage, or specific, is named in a tariff from origin to destination such commodity rate, except. as otherwise provided, is the applicable rate and the only rate that may be used via the route or routes over which the commodity rate applies, even though a class rate, or some combination of rates may make a lower rate.Mont.
