Section 20 CSR 2110-3.010 - DefinitionsPURPOSE: This rule provides definitions for specific terms used throughout the rules.
(1) Board-Missouri Dental Board.(2) Committee board of directors-Composed of one (1) member designated by the Missouri Dental Association, one (1) member designated by the Missouri Dental Hygienists' Association, one (1) member designated by the Missouri Dental Board, and the committee administrator to promote the early identification, intervention, treatment and rehabilitation of dentists or dental hygienists who may be impaired by reasons of illness, substance abuse, or as a result of any physical or mental condition.(3) Committee administrator-The person(s) who is hired, appointed or contracted with by the committee with the approval of the board to coordinate the activities of the committee.(4) Contractor-A nonprofit corporation or dental association with whom the board contracts for the purpose of creating, supporting and maintaining the committee.(5) Dental professional-Dentist or dental hygienist licensed in the state of Missouri and a dentist or dental hygienist who has applied for licensure in the state of Missouri.(6) Impairment-An illness, substance abuse or physical or mental condition suffered by a dentist or dental hygienist that is reasonably related to the practice of dentistry or dental hygiene.
