Section 19 CSR 20-10.080 - Control of Radioactive ContaminationPURPOSE: This rule limits personnel exposure by requiring the control or removal of radioactive contamination.
(1) The user shall see that all work with radioactive materials is carried out under conditions which will minimize the possibility of spread of radioactive material that could result in the exposure of any person above any limit specified in 19 CSR 20-10.040.(2) Where the nature of work is such that a person or his/her clothing may become contaminated with radioactive material, both shall be monitored according to procedures established by a qualified expert. Personal contamination shall be removed according to procedures established by a qualified expert.(3) Clothing or other material contaminated to a degree which could result in the exposure of any person above any limit specified in 19 CSR 20-10.040 should be retained inside the installation until it can be decontaminated or disposed of according to procedures established by a qualified expert.
