Section 10 CSR 60-4.070 - Secondary Contaminant Levels and Monitoring RequirementsPURPOSE: This rule establishes maximum contaminant levels and monitoring requirements for secondary contaminants.
(1) The following are the recommended secondary maximum contaminant levels for community and nontransient noncommunity water systems: | Contaminant | Level |

(2) Groundwater systems shall take one (1) sample at each sampling point during each three (3)-year compliance period beginning in the compliance period starting January 1, 1993. Surface water systems (or combined surface/ground) shall take one (1) sample annually at each sampling point beginning January 1, 1993. Color, foaming agents and odor should be analyzed at the water system site, as needed.(3) For community water systems, if the result of analyses indicates that the secondary contaminant level for fluoride is exceeded, the supplier of water must report to the department within seven (7) days and must collect three (3) additional samples from designated sampling points to be submitted for analysis within one (1) month at intervals determined by the department. When the average of the results of four (4) analyses as required by this section exceeds the secondary contaminant level, the supplier of water must notify the department as required by 10 CSR 60-7.010 and give notice as required by 10 CSR 60-8.010.
