Additionally, State wildlife management areas (WMAs), fishing lakes, and parks, are managed to be as close to a natural condition as possible, while providing access and opportunities for outdoor recreation. Any number of animals, plants, and insects, some of which may be dangerous to humans, may be found on state WMAs, lakes, and parks. As of January of 2023, the MDWFP will be implementing a new dynamic pricing fee structure. By amending this rule, many fixed price amusements and amenities will be replaced with a range of prices for those items so that state park management may adjust pricing to prevailing market trends, popularity of the amenities, seasonal demand (or lack thereof), and similar factors.
