With respect to highways under its jurisdiction, MDOT may in its discretion, upon application and good cause shown, issue a special permit authorizing the applicant to operate or move a motor vehicle or combination of motor vehicles of a certain size, weight or load that exceeds the maximum requirements set forth by law and/or MDOT's Permit & Motor Division Carrier Manual.
