Types of Licenses
1. Licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) is the license granted to an individual who has met and maintained all the qualifications necessary for licensure to practice independently and the renewal of the license.2. Licensed marriage and family therapy associate (LMFTA) is the license granted to an individual who has met and maintained all the qualifications necessary for licensure and for the renewal of the license. A licensed marriage and family therapy associate must practice in an agency setting under a "Board Approved" supervision contract.30 Miss. Code. R. 1903-2.1
