Section 27-1-6-206 - RESTRICTION ON EMPLOYMENT OF PRESENT EMPLOYEES

Except as may be permitted by regulations or rulings of the Ethics Commission, it shall be a breach of ethical standards for any employee who is participating directly or indirectly in the procurement process to become or be, while such an employee, the employee of any person contracting with the governmental body by whom the employee is employed. Additionally, Mississippi Code Annotated § 25-4-105(3)(a)(1972, as amended) states that "no public servant shall be a contractor, subcontractor or vendor with the governmental entity of which he is a member, officer, employee or agent, other than in his contract of employment; or have a material financial interest in any business which is a contractor, subcontractor or vendor with the governmental entity of which he is a member, officer, employee or agent except as may be permitted by Mississippi Code Annotated § 25-4-105(4)(d)(1972, as amended).
