Rule 24-2-32.13 - Intensive Community Outreach and Recovery Team for Children/Youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance
A. The ICORT is a resiliency oriented, intensive, community-based rehabilitation service for children and youth with serious emotional/behavioral disturbance. Intensive Community Outreach and Recovery Services support the entire family lacking access to office-based services, and/or when needs cannot be met by traditional outpatient services and failure to intervene through community-based intervention could result in the child or youth becoming at risk for out-of-home therapeutic resources.
B. Intensive Community Outreach and Recovery services are provided primarily in natural settings and are delivered face-to-face with the child or youth and/or their family/guardian/caregiver. Intensive Community Outreach and Recovery assists in the setting and attaining of youth-guided and family-driven resiliency goals. The ultimate goal is to stabilize the living arrangement, promote reunification, or prevent the utilization of out-of-home therapeutic resources (i.e., psychiatric hospital, therapeutic foster care, and residential treatment facility).
