A non-certified applicator may use a restricted use pesticide under the direct supervision of a certified private applicator. The certified applicator must ensure that all requirements for direct supervision of non-certified applicators contained in the EPA's Code of Federal Regulations 40 CFR § 171.201 are met prior to the use of the restricted use pesticide by the non-certified individual.
