MDHS will collect and disseminate information through the consumer education website on an ongoing basis, continuously updating existing resources and services for conducting developmental screenings and providing intervention services as needed. Also, the MECIC works to educate providers through professional development to recognize the need for developmental screenings and to provide resources for referrals. This information may be found on the consumer education website. These referred services include the use of the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) program and development screening services available under the Individuals with IDEA. The website describes how a family or eligible child care provider may utilize the resources and services to obtain developmental screenings for children receiving child care assistance and who may be at risk for cognitive or other developmental delays. The consumer education website describes the process for providers receiving CCDF assistance to provide referrals for services to obtain developmental screenings for children. MDHS will include information to parents regarding resources for developmental screenings in the Parent Approval Letter received upon being determined eligible for the CCPP.
