Rule 15-3-1-7.1.14 - Facility Standards-PACU1. Tertiary pediatric trauma centers must have a PACU staffed 24 hours/day and available to the postoperative pediatric trauma patient. Frequently it is advantageous to bypass the PACU and directly admit to the PICU. In this instance, the Pediatric ICU may meet these requirements.2. PACU staffing must be in sufficient number to meet the critical needs of the pediatric trauma patient.3.
