Primary pediatric trauma centers are facilities with a commitment to the resuscitation of the pediatric trauma patient and have written transfer protocols in place to assure those patients who require a higher level of care are appropriately transferred. All designated Trauma Centers shall, as a minimum, be designated as a Primary Pediatric Trauma Center as a condition of designation in the Mississippi Trauma Care System. The list of required equipment for Primary Pediatric Trauma Centers can be found on-line at http://msdh.ms.gov/msdhsite/static/49.html.
