Before implementing any changes, the operator must obtain approval from the licensing agency for any significant alterations affecting areas of the family home. Such major changes include, but are not limited to, changes in operator, director, location, hours of operation, renovations, use of areas within the home, or the number and ages of children served. Additional examples include changes in the evacuation plan or emergency relocations, damages to or changes in the condition of the family home, loss of electricity, heat, air conditioning, or water supply to the family home for over one hour while children are present.
