Rule 15-11-55-2.12.1 - Employee Health1. Employees manifesting symptoms or otherwise suspected of having upper respiratory, gastrointestinal, skin, or other serious contagious conditions shall be excluded from work until either free from symptoms or certified by a physician to be no longer infectious.2. Staff shall use universal precautions when changing diapers or being exposed to blood, fecal material, or urine. Refer to Appendix "F" for instructions on how to properly wash hands.3. Staff shall wash their hands upon: a. Immediately before handling food, preparing bottles, or feeding children.b. After using the toilet, assisting a child in using the toilet, or changing diapers.c. After contacting a child's body fluids, including wet or soiled diapers, runny noses, spit, vomit, etc.d. After handling pets, pet cages, or other pet objects.e. Whenever hands are visibly dirty or after cleaning up a child, the room, bathroom items, or toys.f. After removing gloves used for any purpose.g. Before giving or applying medication or ointment to a child or self. Refer to Appendix "F" for instructions on how to properly wash hands.15 Miss. Code.
