Rule 15-10-76-3.5.6 - Precautions To Be Taken Prior to Entering Boilers and Pressure Vessels1. All confined spaces shall be kept well purged and ventilated of all atmospheric contaminants.2. All internal space and surfaces shall be at reasonable temperatures.3. All electrical equipment and electrical cords shall be adequately grounded and preferably of the low voltage (12 volt) type.4. Pressure vessels that have contained flammable, toxic, corrosive, or irritant contents shall be properly cleaned and certified as safe to enter by an Industrial Hygienist or other person qualified to make the necessary required tests.5. Pressure vessels that are being lined or coated with a vaporous compound shall be well purges at all times during the process, and anyone in the vessel shall be attached to an adequate life-line and attended by a competent person stationed at the vessel's entrance.6.
