Rule 10-501-1.3 - Research Review and Standards Committee The Research Review and Standards Committee (RRSC) has the responsibility to recommend to the SLDS Governing Board a process for reviewing and evaluating data security and reporting methodology standards on an annual basis and for reviewing and authorizing ad hoc requests and reports.
A. The Research Review and Standards Committee (RRSC) is appointed by the SLDS Governing Board and shall be comprised of the chair and six (6) committee members. The committee members shall include a representative from: 1. Jackson State University (JSU), recommended by the JSU President; 2. Mississippi State University (MSU), recommended by the MSU President; 3. University of Mississippi (UM), recommended by the UM Chancellor; 4. University of Southern Mississippi (USM), recommended by the USM President; 5. Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) as recommended by the MCCB Executive Director, and; 6. Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) as recommended by the State Superintendent. Committee members shall be subject matter experts in areas relevant to the SLDS scope of work and mission. Recommendations for committee membership shall include a brief summary of the candidate's relevant expertise. Recommendations for membership shall be submitted to the SLDS Governing Board Chair by April 1 for appointments beginning July 1. Committee members shall serve two-year terms as specified by the SLDS Governing Board Chair. Committee members may be reappointed without limitation to terms served.
B. The (RRSC) Chair shall be appointed by the SLDS Governing Board Chair and shall be a member of the Mississippi Research Consortium (MRC). The MRC shall recommend an RRSC Chair candidate to the SLDS Governing Board Chair by April 1 for appointments beginning July 1. The RRSC Chair shall serve a two-year term as specified by the SLDS Governing Board Chair.
