Section R. 281.173 - Construction of language: severabilityRule 3.
(1) All of the following rules of construction apply to the text of these rules: (a) A "building" or "structure" includes any part thereof.(b) The phrase "used for" includes "arranged for," "designed for," "intended for," "maintained for," or "occupied for."(c) The word "person" includes an individual, a corporation, a partnership, an incorporated association, or any other similar entity.(d) The terms "lot" and "parcel" have the same meaning.(e) Terms not defined in these rules shall have the meanings customarily assigned to them.(2) In any case in which the provisions of these rules are declared by the courts to be unconstitutional or invalid, such ruling shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these rules and to this end the provisions of these rules are declared to be severable.Mich.
