Section R. 792.11609 - Medical examination

Rule 1609.

(1) For purposes of deciding eligibility for disability retirement under sections 21 and 24 of the state employees' retirement act, 1943 PA 240, MCL 38.21 and 38.24, a medical examination conducted by 1 or more medical advisors means either a personal medical examination of the retirement system member or a review of the application and medical records of the member.
(2) If an applicant for a disability retirement under section 21 or 24 of the state employees' retirement act, 1943 PA 240, MCL 38.21 and 38.24, fails to submit to a reasonable medical examination requested by the system, the application shall be denied.
