20.1.1 Application. Existing assembly occupancies shall comply with section 20.1 and NFPA 101 as it relates to operation and maintenance only.20.1.4.11 Clothing. Clothing and personal effects shall not be stored in corridors, unless otherwise permitted by any of the following:(1) For existing occupancies, this requirement shall not apply to corridors protected by an approved, automatic sprinkler system in accordance with section 13.3.13.7.12 (1).(2) This requirement shall not apply to corridor areas protected by a smoke detection system in accordance with 13.7.1.4.(3) This requirement shall not apply to storage in metal lockers, provided that the required egress width is maintained. See 12.7.12. 20.4 Deleted. 20.5.1 Application. Existing residential board and care occupancies shall comply with Section 20.5 and NFPA 101 as it applies to operation and maintenance. 20.5.2.1.4 Deleted. 20.5.2.3 Deleted.20.7 Deleted. 20.8.1 Application. Existing hotels and dormitories shall comply with section 20.8 and NFPA 101 as they apply to operation and maintenance.20.9.1 Application. Existing apartment buildings shall comply with section 20.9 and NFPA 101 as they apply to operation and maintenance.20.10.1 Application. Existing lodging or rooming houses shall comply with section 20.10 and NFPA 101 as they apply to operation and maintenance.20.11 Deleted.20.12.1 Application. Existing mercantile occupancies shall comply with section 20.12 and NFPA 101 as they apply to operation and maintenance.20.13.1 Application. Existing business occupancies shall comply with section20.13 and NFPA 101 as they apply to operation and maintenance.20.14.1 Application. Existing industrial occupancies shall comply with section 20.14 and NFPA 101 as they apply to operation and maintenance.20.15.1 Application. Existing storage occupancies shall comply with NFPA 101, chapter 34, appropriate codes or standards referenced in chapter 2, and section 20.15as they apply to operation and maintenance.20.15.3 Storage, arrangement, protection, and quantities of hazardous commodities. The storage, arrangement, protection, and quantities of hazardous commodities shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions for operation and maintenance of the following:(1) NFPA 13, standard for the installation of sprinkler systems, chapters 61, 66 and 70.(2) NFPA 434, code for the storage of pesticides, chapter 65: 36.4.5.3.(3) NFPA 101, life safety code: 37.4.5.3-storage, arrangement, protection and quantities of hazardous commodities. 20.15.4 Bulk storage elevators. Bulk storage elevators shall comply with 20.15.4.1 and NFPA 61, standard for the prevention of fires and dust explosions in agricultural and food processing facilities as they apply to operation and maintenance.20.15.5.1 Records protection equipment, facilities, and records-handling techniques that provide protection from the hazards of fire shall comply with20.15.5 and NFPA 232, standard for the protection of records as they relate to operation and maintenance. 20.15.6.1 The storage and handling of cellulose nitrate film records shall comply with 20.15.6 and NFPA 40, standard for the storage and handling of cellulose nitrate film as they relate to operation and maintenance.20.15.7.1 Buildings containing high-piled storage shall comply with NFPA 13, chapter 34, and 20.15.7 as they relate to operation and maintenance.20.16.1.1 Existing special structures and high-rise buildings shall comply with NFPA 101 as they relate to operation and maintenance. 20.17 Deleted.Mich.
