(1) A wire rope or chain on a crane, lift or hoist used to lift or carry molten metal shall: (a) Be inspected weekly for wear or defects and shall be replaced if worn or defective.(b) Have a designed safety factor of not less than 8.(2) A wire rope shall have an independent wire rope core.Mich.
