Section R. 325.9051 - DefinitionsRule 9051.
As used in these rules:
(a) "Primary brain-related tumor" means a primary tumor, whether malignant or benign, of the brain, meninges, spinal cord, cauda equina, a cranial nerve or nerves, or any part of the central nervous system or of the pituitary gland, pineal gland, or craniopharyngeal gland.(b)"Cancer" means all diagnoses with a behavior code of 2 (carcinoma in situ) or 3 (malignant primary site) which is listed in publication found in department policy and made available to the public including carcinomas of skin of the vagina, prepuce, clitoris, vulva, labia, penis, and scrotum but excluding basal, epithelial, papillary, and squamous cell carcinomas of the skin.(c) "Department" means the department of health and human services.(d) "Reporting entity or reporting entities" means an individual, facility, or other entity described in these rules as required to report patient information with a diagnosed cancer or other reportable condition to the state cancer registry. A reporting entity includes the following: (i) Physician as defined in sections 17001 and 17501 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.17001 and 333.17501.(ii) Dentist as defined in in section 16601 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.16601.(iii) Hospital as defined in section 20106 of the public health code, 368 PA 1978 of the public health code, MCL 333.20106.(iv) Clinic defined as an outpatient facility that provides advice, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, surgery, care, or services relating to the preservation or maintenance of health.(v) Clinical laboratory as defined in section 20104 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.20104.Mich.
