Section R. 325.1674a - Water supply cross-connectionsRule 174a.
(1) A physical connection between a water supply that is in compliance with the requirements of these rules and another water supply that is not in compliance with the requirements of these rules is prohibited.(2) A yard hydrant that has a buried stop-and-waste valve shall not be installed on a water service line or a branch of the service line. A stop-and-waste valve shall not drain into a well.(3) A water supply system shall be designed, operated, and maintained in a manner that will prevent contamination from nonpotable liquids, solids, or gases from being introduced into the water supply or aquifer through cross-connections or any other piping connections to the water supply system.Mich.
