Section R. 336.1613 - Existing conveyorized cold cleanersRule 613.
(1) A person shall not operate an existing conveyorized cold cleaner unless all of the provisions of this rule are met or unless an equivalent control method is approved by the department.(2) A person shall not operate an existing conveyorized cold cleaner unless all of the following conditions are met:(a) A procedure is developed to minimize organic solvent carryout by doing both of the following: (i) Racking parts for best drainage.(ii) Maintaining the conveyor speed at a level that will prevent dripping of solvent off the cleaned parts.(b) Organic solvent leaks are repaired immediately.(c) The cleaner is operated in a manner such that no water is visibly detectable in solvent exiting the water separator.(d) Waste organic solvent is stored only in closed containers, unless demonstrated to be a safety hazard and disposed of in a manner such that not more than 20% by weight is allowed to evaporate into the atmosphere.(3) A person responsible for the provisions of this rule shall develop written procedures for the operation of all such provisions, and such procedures shall be posted in an accessible, conspicuous location near the cold cleaner.(4) The provisions of this rule do not apply to an existing conveyorized cold cleaner that is subject to the provisions of 40 C.F.R. Part 63, Subpart T "National Emission Standards for Halogenated Solvent Cleaning," adopted by reference in R 336.1902.Mich. Admin. Code R. 336.1613
