Section 26.04.08.13 - Requirements for Approval of In-State FacilitiesA. A substitute fuel/tire-derived fuel facility or solid waste acceptance facility shall be approved by the Department before accepting any scrap tires.B. After the appropriate application required by Regulation .14 or .15 of this chapter is submitted to the Department, facility approval may be granted by a modification to a permit issued to the facility under other applicable State or federal statutes and regulations.C. When the storage of scrap tires is planned, the applicant for a substitute fuel/tire-derived fuel or solid waste acceptance facility shall submit 13 copies of the application and supporting documents for distribution by the Department, for comment, to those agencies or individuals listed in Regulation .09B(3) of this chapter.D. Until December 31, 1993, all permitted sanitary landfills in Maryland are approved facilities and may accept tires for disposal if the requirements specified in Regulation .10B of this chapter are met. To remain approved after this period, sanitary landfills shall apply for a renewal of their approval following the procedures in Regulations .15 and .23 of this chapter.E.
