Section 17.04.11.17 - Administrative LeaveA. An appointing authority may authorize paid administrative leave, not to exceed 10 work days, in order to remove an employee from the workplace when the employee: (1) May pose a threat to self, another individual, or State property;(2) May be incapable of properly performing the employee's duties because of extraordinary circumstances; or(3) Is under investigation for work-related conduct.B. Administrative leave as specified in §A of this regulation is not a disciplinary action.C. Administrative leave may be authorized for incentive awards in accordance with State Personnel and Pensions Article, Title 10, Subtitle 2, Annotated Code of Maryland.D. Administrative leave may be authorized by the Secretary for the release of State employees under emergency conditions.E. Administrative leave may be authorized by the Secretary for any other reasons which are consistently applied and which are not illegal or unconstitutional.Md. Code Regs. 17.04.11.17
