Section 07.03.07.15 - Appeals and Complaints of Discrimination
A. Appeal from Local Department Decision.
(1) The local department shall give written notification of the right to and the procedures for requesting and obtaining an administrative hearing to each applicant or recipient of public assistance:
(a) At the time of application; and
(b) Whenever the local department notifies the applicant or recipient of any action that might deny, delay, suspend, reduce, or terminate benefits.
(2) The appeal procedures are set forth in COMAR 07.01.04.
B. Complaints of Discrimination. An applicant, recipient, authorized representative, or someone acting on behalf of the customer who believes the local department has discriminated on the basis of age, race, color, sex, disability, religion, national origin, or political beliefs may file a written complaint in accordance with COMAR 07.01.03.08H.
