Section 250-162-20 - FLEET TO FLEET TRANSFER1. Subject to each member jurisdiction's requirements, a registrant may transfer a vehicle from one of its fleets to another. Both fleets must belong to the same registrant as determined by the registrant's Federal Identification Number. If the transfer results in a change in expiration month, the registration fee and excise tax must be prorated subject to each member jurisdiction's requirements.2. Maine allows a registrant to transfer a vehicle from one of its fleets to another only at renewal time.3. The transfer of a vehicle from one registrant to another will be considered a sale of the vehicle.
