Section 285-2-3 - Licensure by Endorsement
1.Overview

A veterinarian licensed in good standing in another state, United States territory or Canada is eligible for licensure by endorsement upon:

A. Achievement of a passing score on a national examination;
B. Achievement of a passing score on the Maine jurisprudence examination; and
C. Proof of active practice of clinical veterinary medicine for 3,000 hours during the three years preceding application.
2.Application and Fees

The applicant shall submit:

A. A completed application form;
B. The fees required by Chapter 10, Section 4(40) of the rules of the Office of Licensing and Registration, entitled "Establishment of License Fees;" and
C. Such additional information as the board may require.
3.National Examination Scores

Depending on the applicant's year of original licensure, the applicant shall submit proof from AAVSB of a passing score on:

A. The NAVLE;
B. The NBE and CCT; or
C. The NBE.
4.License Verification

The applicant shall submit license verifications from all jurisdictions in which the applicant has at any time been licensed as a veterinarian.
