Section 001-3-1.4 - ELIGIBILITY AND DOCUMENTATIONA. A household is eligible for the food assistance program if: 1. A member of the household participates in any of the following federal or state programs: b. Elderly Tax and Rent Refund;c. Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC);f. Supplemental Security Income (SSI); org. Elderly Low Cost Drug Program; or2. The annual household income is less than or equal to 150% of the federal poverty guidelines. (See Annex I.)B. The household must demonstrate its eligibility in one of the following ways: 1. At the distribution site present a flyer sent by the local emergency feeding organization to the household pursuant to Section 1.3 B(M); or2. Complete the application form, attached hereto as Appendix E, providing: a. The number and names of all household members;b. The household address;c. The signature of the household member making the application, certifying the accuracy of the information, consenting to the verification of information and acknowledging the penalty provision; andd. A statement that the household participates in one of the programs set forth in 1.4 A or that the household income is at or below the allowable amounts set forth in Section 1.4 A(2). If the household participates in one of the eligible programs, the emergency feeding organization shall request but not require proof of such participation.C. Members of the household must be residents of the State of Maine. Proof of residency may be required by the emergency food organization.D. No person shall be denied participation in the food assistance program because of race, color, national origin, sex, age or handicap.E. Under no circumstances will recipients of the commodities be required to make any payments in money, materials or services for or in conjunction with the receipt of commodities, nor shall voluntary contributions of any kind be solicited from recipients in connection with the receipt of commodities.01-001 C.M.R. ch. 3, § 1.4
