Section VII-306 - Cypremort Point State Park-Netting ProhibitionA. Recent emergency provisions adopted by the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission under the authority of R.S. 56:317 prohibit the use of gill nets, trammel nets, seines and trawls from the cove immediately adjacent to Cypremort Point State Park, St. Mary and Iberia Parishes, Louisiana. The area to be closed shall be landward of a line from the point commonly known as Blue Point to the point of land commonly known as Cypremort Point, including all waters therein to the existing shoreline.B. This prohibition was adopted because of interference of commercial and recreational activities, fish remains and trash being washed ashore from commercial fishing activities causing health hazards to swimmers, fishermen, children and other water users.La.
