A. Services provided under the Social Services Block Grant are defined annually in the final Intended Use Report which complies with Section 2004 of the Block Grant Statute and other federal regulations approved by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.B. Prior to the adoption of the Intended Use Report by the agency, the report is made available for public review and written comments and at least one hearing is conducted in a major metropolitan area of the state. Notices are published in the state official journal and other major newspapers announcing public review.C. Provision of services is based on the following categories of priorities: 1.Priority 1- life support services which if denied would place individuals at life threatening risk;2.Priority 2- essential services, although non-life support, would maintain individual health and support the family unit; and3.Priority 3- those services which are important but do not meet the criteria of Priority 1 and Priority 2 above or are available from another source.La.
